Render Farm - User's Guide: Plugins: Simbiont 2.52

Simbiont 2.52 For Lightwave

It appears that Simbiont has a serious bug. It stores a fully-qualified path to your darktree files, even if they are in your content directory.

Unfortunately, there is not much we can do on this end to solve that problem; We would suggest contacting Darkling Simulations and asking them to address this issue.

In the meantime, you can work around the problem by following our instructions on mimicking the ResPower filesystem:

The basic idea is that you create a file-system layout on your end that reflects the layout on "our" end. Once you have done this, Simbiont will find your shader files in exactly the right location regardless of where the files are being processed.

Please note that this bug appears to be identical to 3dStudio's problem, discussed on Create a Y-Drive, where it converts file names to their "UNC" equivalents, so simply mapping a drive from a file server to Y: will not be likely to solve the problem. You may be able to still have your files on a file-server by installing the ResPower Virtual Y-Drive utility on a network drive mapped to your server.
